Night 1 through 3 will be about how great he is and how Dems need to die. Night 4 will just be him masturbating to a photo of himself that Barr has to hold up.

I'd give anything for this to be a ruse by Tiffany to come out against him and the whole family wherein she drops a bunch of bombshells right before security tackles her and hauls her off stage while the live feed cuts for "technical difficulties."

The more Trump the better, given how people tend to react to him. I strongly suspect that most nights will be brief prerecorded remarks, but if he wants to actually give a speech each night, I would more than welcome that.

Looking forward to seeing numerous Zoom squares with people shooting their God given guns into the air in celebration while they burn masks.

I have to be honest, after the first couple videos, the Sarah Cooper stuff grew old for me. Randy Rainbow is far more talented. He should be the one getting tv shows out of their satire.

I have a feeling the "convention" will really just be an hour of Trump giving one of his batshit insane rally speeches that he hasn't been able to do due to Covid. He won't be able to follow a teleprompter for that long so he'll start to wing it. Which will be seen as a home run to his base, but just add more fuel to the fire for everyone else who has critical thinking skills. We should get several good sound bites each night.

She'd had a couple that weren't great - but then bounced back. (IMO)

RR's talent (and he certainly has it) is more-or-less like Weird Al, which doesn't make for a good show.
SC's talent is being able to mimic and mock with perfection, and I could see that being leveraged.

BTW, I need to look at what you are talking about, I wasn't aware she got a deal - but I did see her most recent one regarding Mail In Voting where she breaks character and talks to everyone about the seriousness of it all. I thought that was effective, and I think the link I saw was from NBC or something (not her tic tok).

edit: the show deal: https://www.theverge.com/2020/8/20/2137 ... bs-tv-show

They like her sense of comedy and she wrote a book that Netflix want's to turn into a show.

/shrug... Why would Randy Rainbow deserve a show over her?

Here ya go.

From what I saw, Cooper's kind of a one trick pony. Some people may find that trick funny after seeing it over and over again though, I guess. Myself? Not so much.

Now Randy? He's a goddamn national treasure. :D

No BAM for you. You edited yours to include the link WHILE i was responding.

Listen, I worry the BAM isn't being taken seriously enough these days. We need to hold the BAM up to higher standards than we have been. When Issie began BAM'ing years ago, I don't think he foresaw that it would become a national craze. But unfortunately, that means some folks have started to take shortcuts with the BAM.

As Voltaire once wrote: "With great BAM comes even greater responsibility!"

First - to be clear, I want them both to continue being great.

Cooper has totally won my heart. Occasionally, (they aren't all winners) her mockery is just exactly what the doctor ordered.

My understanding is that she's a stand-up comedian and has written a few books - and then caught 'our eye' with her Trump impersonations. I don't think the show is going to be watching her lip sync Trump's ramblings. I think Netflix saw talent and wanted to tap it.

Myself? I am starting to find Randy pretty formulaic and a little 'one tricky'.

But, I honestly enjoy just about anything that mocks Trump and might get under his skin... And Cooper's work is much more likely to do that than Randy's - so I find Randy less effective and more just navel gazing.

Personally my favorite is JL Cauvin's stuff. His Trump impersonation is the best I've ever seen, both in terms of his intonations and just his ability to channel Trump's shtick:

He totally has it nailed, I completely agree on that. I mean - it's perfect.

The only problem with it (and this isn't his fault), is that the comedian is trying to be satirical while Trump is a joke of his own making... So, sometimes when I hear people 'pretending to be Trump and saying fake Trump things'.... I feel like saying - 'you aren't even half as ridiculous as the real thing...' It's the problem The Onion and other comedians have explain they are having in these unbelievable times we are living in.

That's what is so fun about Sarah Cooper's 'found gem'; in showing off the fool's own words for what they are.

Where, it's easy to dismiss JL Cauvin's mocking/Trump-talk as just a comedian exaggerating 'the problem'...

Cooper's comedy may not survive post-Trump, the corporate mocking is only mildly amusing. But in the moment it is comedy gold.

I'm going to establish a 5-minute window in which an edit does not constitute a BAM, as this leaves respondents in a handicapped position. Better to post a second time with the link for best results. And this window closes early if your resulting edit is flagged by the system, as then a response has been posted before the edit completed.

The whole essence of Bam, at it's core, is purely chronological.
You arbitrarily putting a window of 300 seconds is an affront to the whole thing. I'm sorry, sir. :hand:

There is no distinction between me making a reply and me making the edit, as there is no edit stamp, as you yourself said. Yet you pretend that would have made all the difference.

From the bits and pieces I've seen of tonight, I almost get the feeling that Trump isn't trying to win.

He's trying to set the stage to refuse to accept a loss.

That was a fear in 2016 and now it really appears to be the case. Trump is not someone who loses. It isn't possible in his broken mind.

I received a survey/request for donation from the RNC a year ago. I decided to fill it out and selected the reasonable choice out of all the insane ones. Ever since then they've been mailing me surveys and I've been filling them out and mailing them back. I just got one that said I'm a member of the elite Republican circle.

Yeah I wound up just tossing it in the garbage because I was afraid responding (even negatively) would put me on some kind of mass mailing list.
