Nah, they'd be fine all the way down. They can flap and glide, they just don't have much luck when it comes to gaining altitude or maneuvering. The only real risk would be them overflapping at the beginning and not having the endurance for the final 50 feet.

I think the important point for him is that they have to be thawed... And ideally alive.
