(it kinda looks like she's trying to cosplay the sixth Doctor).
Congrats Wyoming you have elected your very own MTG/Boebert. She already went on Fox News lying about Liz Cheney not calling her to concede. Which prompted Cheney to promptly release the audio of her calling and conceding. These people live in their own version of reality where lying is ok as long as it's called "alternative facts" and it advances their interests.
A Republican group in Alabama is apologizing after accidentally using a picture of a GOP elephant that contained Ku Klux Klan imagery.
The Lawrence County Republican Party posted an image on its Facebook page of the GOP elephant in which the white spaces between the animals' legs were drawn to resemble hooded Klansmen.
I watch that DeSantis garbage, and it almost gives me a feeling of optimism. It’s such weak tea.
Sure, it can motivate the base at a Turning Point conference, but to win a national election when your platform is pretty much “Warrior Against the Woke”? It just doesn’t seem like something that’s going to turn out a lot of people that aren’t already tuned in to Turning Point. And those votes are by no means up for grabs anyway.
Also, for what it’s worth, the Democrats should be able to minimize these attacks. I mean, how hard would it really be to avoid the self-owns and “woke traps” that the GOP has been setting out? It’s doable, and it should be done.

That's sort of the point though, right? He is playing to the audience in front of him. This has nothing to do with winning a national election. It probably would only slightly represent what his national election strategy would be. The importance here IMO is listening to the rhetoric because it represents what appeals to the hardcore base. They are the GOP's radicalization early adopters. It usually informs us the direction the rest of the party is moving towards. We unfortunately have to assume the majority of the GOP will generally accept it over time. There still doesn't seem to be a bottom. As an example, the 'build a wall' white nationalist voices in the 2008 race that were tut-tutted/ignored were all too relevant in 2016.
Jesus, that’s absolutely brutal. I’m surprised the guy lived. Have they said what he did that prompted such a vicious attack?
Edit: never mind. Found some background. The guy sounds like a violent nutcase who injured one of the officers after they were called about him threatening people and spitting on them.
But that doesn’t matter. A cop’s job is justice, not vengeance. And that’s exactly what that looks like in that video.

I bet those officers are going to get a stern talking-to!

Attempted murder. plain as fucking day. No one applies that much energy against another person's head repeatedly - without the goal of destroying that person.

It sounded like he might have been mentally ill.

The telling part is when they realized their very illegal beat down was being recorded. Their reaction is all I needed to see to know they knew they were in trouble. At the very least the one smashing the man's head into the concrete needs to be arrested and run out of law enforcement. He is a vicious thug that has no place in a position of public trust. The other ones are in the wrong but smashing someone's face into concrete? That's attempted murder.

Exactly. I guess this might be what Trump was talking about when he said the law enforcement in this country was 'third world'.

Better yet, lean into and define it, like the deplorables did. Woke means awake. That's a good label to embrace.

Um, no. Love the sentiment, and I don't disagree with it ideologically, but such ivory tower, Massachusetts-bubble stuff is not going to be politically helpful in 2022 or 2024.

Not. One. Bit.
Agree. Hillary also leaned into it a bit with MUCH less ‘controversial’ labels like progressive and liberal.

While I agree with you in spirit totally, it seems like that ship has sailed as the term now has been used in a number of ways by so many factions and IIRC was first 'disparaged' by Obama himself, so it's just too hard to correct at this point.

You people just need to get woke.
OK, I'll believe that we lost that word, but it illustrates how Democrats suck at bending the narrative. "Woke" is better than asleep.

The GOP are masters at controlling language to control the conversation. My "woke" moment, I think was heavily rooted in seeing how the religious and federalist left spend to much effort in dictating the conversation by dictating the meaning of words and concepts. Maybe the libs should appropriate "Come to Jesus" and replace "woke" with that.
Ironically my education began when the right tried to indoctrinate me with attacks on "political correct"ness. Though I am embarrassed to admit it took 25 years for it truly sink in how bad it really has been.
