I wouldn't be shocked (in fact, I think it's reasonably likely) for Harbaugh to go back to the NFL eventually, though it's a little soon for him to do so now. He hasn't been at Michigan for long and hasn't won any titles yet, so it would be bit of a stain on his reputation / legacy to jump ship now.

The opportunity to fuck with the 49ers regularly has to be awfully tempting, though. God, dumping Harbaugh has to be one of the Top 10 dumbest moves for a franchise in recent pro sports history.
Absolutely, he may down the road want to make a run at a SB ring but the situation would have to be a good one and well, the Rams aint that. Plus he still has, as you said, things to prove at Michigan.

Good question. Must be because Brady killed pro football.

In related news, Walt Anderson (he who was tasked with measuring the PSI in the locker room during half time of what became Deflategate) is schedule to ref the game between DEN/NE this weekend. Temps are predicted to be a high of 25F and low of 2F. It's a 4:25 EST kickoff. What could go wrong?

Patriots are awarded Michael Floyd who was cut by the Cardinals after a DUI earlier in the week.

This is an interesting rental. He's a FA after the season and the Pats are down to 4 (really 3 as Matthew Slater is known for his Special Teams play) healthy WRs. If he a fast learner, he could help in the playoffs.

Not sure how Amendola feels about it as Floyd is making $1.2 million for the next 3 games while Amendola has earned $1.5 million for the whole season. I'd assume it doesn't bother him at all, but who knows?

Amendola was scheduled to earn $5 million in base salary and count $6.8 million on the salary cap, which made it unlikely that he would remain with the club unless the sides revisited the deal. He was also scheduled to earn a base salary of $6 million in 2017.

Amendola's restructured contract is for a maximum value of $7.35 million over two years, with an additional $750,000 in incentives and roster bonuses, sources confirmed to ESPN.
...
This is the second straight year that Amendola has adjusted his contract to stay with the team. Last year, he reduced his base salary from $4 million to $1.5 million.
Seems like he has bigger priorities than his payday.

But Amendola usually only plays about three games a season, so it's more or less the same.

Is that really the view from those outside the fans? He's a very useful contributor to the offense coming up with important catches in most games. He's seen his playing time dip a bit with the emergence of Mitchell, but he's still on the field for around 1/3 of the offensive plays. He's a steal at that price.

I believe he was simply making a joke regarding how often Amendola is injured. :P

Except he's not injured that often.

He's played in 12, 16, 14, and 12 games as a Patriot. That's pretty good.

Chicago might not have won (how could they have let Nelson get behind them??? That's the only way they don't get to OT!), but Moore didn't look half bad.

The Patriots played a very controlled game against the Broncos. Once they got the lead, it was all about not making a mistake. Locking up a first round bye was a nice early Christmas present.

Wow I would have a hard time watching that game. Watching the media hump Brady's leg for a week AND watching also the Cowboys... :x  Giants are coming on pretty strong so I wouldn't count them out. Eli morphs into someone else when the playoffs start.

No that's ok I'm alright with them choosing not to cover him. Some how the Saints have not been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. It only requires winning out and 2 teams imploding so hard a black hole is formed, very possible considering this is the NFC South.

I think Eli and Payton swap bodies for the playoffs. It always seemed Payton could carry a team for the season but never the playoffs and Eli could kill playoff hopes all year, but if they made it he would win it for them.

There is video from the Michael Floyd DUI arrest. Honestly, it's not bad considering we already know it was a DUI. The guy woke up and had no clue what was going on - not surprising given a BAC of 0.217. They stopped him because he sat through two light cycles and was asleep at an intersection.

The Jets/Pats is being shown on local tv on this weekend - whoooo-hooo! I was going to have to miss the game to go to my kids' Christmas concert, but now I can just tape it and watch it after everyone goes to bed that night. BEST CHRISTMAS EVE EVER!!! (assuming they win). :)

I'm so mad right now. The Raiders were a bold team this year and the Super Bowl was in their sights. This is worse than the security guard spanking his monkey during a game.

Terrible. Mariota also broke his leg, which ends the Titans' chances. But Oakland had the best shot in the AFC of taking down NE.
