Per many articles like this one, it seems 4 NO Republican votes were needed to let the Republicans vote on impeachment of Mayorkas again.

Can someone explain this to me? How does 3 Republican NO votes finalize the matter, but 4 NO votes means they can vote on this again?

Because the vote would have been 215 to 215 and that would mean the VP would decide the outcome (I think)?

By changing his vote to a "no", it now has been decided by the body and can be raised again for another vote.

What's more hilarious is that the Senate is actively shooting down legislation that the House is presumably trying to impeach the Secretary of Homeland Security over.

Has anyone seen a statement that they are just going to vote again when Scalise is back?

Could a Dem have changed their vote to tie it up again?

I'm not really sure what the moves are and how much they're gaming the process. It's all theater regardless, and having the GOP flounder does make them look worse than having the party's VP come in and squash the impeachment - I can only imagine how the GOP would howl over that and how corrupt the Democrats are, etc...

VP Harris is only president of the senate. No House responsibility at all.

So is there no tiebreaker in the house? Is a tie just a defeat then?
