Not all of these are 2024 releases and I didn't finish them all, but I thought it would be interesting to rank everything I played in 2024. I may be missing stuff as I only keep track of completed games, but I suppose those are the most important ones anyway. I remember this game was the talk of the town when it came out. Even NPR did a segment on it. But now I hear nothing about it.

The only Mechwarrior game I've played is the original one which came out in 1989. I liked how it make you feel you were controlling a huge, lumbering machine. You had to put some thought into your speed, turning, and angle of approach, all while deciding which weapons to fire at which parts of your opponent and at what time. Looking at gameplay videos of more recent Mechwarrior games, I sense they're not like that anymore. They're not exactly twitchy shooters, but they've moved in that direction.

There's two that I wasn't sure if I should put on this list or not. I played about halfway through Baldur's Gate 3 on PS5 after beating it on PC last year. If I had to out this on my list every year I fiddle with it, I’m guessing it will be my #1 forever. I also restarted Final Fantasy XVI this weekend, with the intent of getting to the expansion content at some point.. Those both kinda feel like cheating though, as they're both "evergreen" games that would end up tops on my list every year I played them, regardless of how many times through.
