Games played 2025! Stake your claim!

Welcome to 2025! Here's a place to keep track of what you're playing, what you've beaten (or finished), and what you've abandoned. It's traditionally for video games, but there's nothing that prevents people from including tabletop games played on the list, too. As always, give people a week or so to get 'slots' for recording their games, then feel free to use the thread for discussion as well.
Here are the previous Games Finished threads:
2024 2023 2022 2021 2020
2019 2018 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010
2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004

18 games finished in 2024, making it a very productive gaming year.
Games finished
- Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5): A-. Jan 9. Third time's the charm on this one, and it finally clicked. Ran through the base game and Phantom Liberty and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would have been a solid A if not for the ridiculous amount of bugs, even after years of squishing them. 58 hours.
- Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road (PS5). B. Jan 19. Zone was cool but the storyline was meh. Played a Stam Warden which was a fun new class. 30 hours.
- Sayonara Wild Hearts (PS5): B. Feb 1. A super short combo of shooter, bullet hell, fighting game, and QTE. Very cool and stylish, worth the single session it took to beat. 90 minutes.
Currently playing
- Palworld (PS5)
- Assassins Creed Valhalla (PS5)
Abandoned Video Games
- Octopath Traveler II (PS5). Got further than my first try (unlocked all the characters). It looks amazing and the combat is decent, but I just don't find any of the character stories interesting at all. 13 hours.
- Dragon Age Origins (PC). Tough to go backward after the excellent Veilguard. Also buggy as all hell, so I gave up after about 4 hours.
- Songs of Conquest (PS5). A very cool HOMM3 pixel art clone. Not interested in the campaign, but the random maps are super fun.
New Board Games
- Heroes of Might & Magic III: The Board Game
- Thunder Road Vendetta: Carnival of Chaos
- Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era

2024 was another 'quality over quantity' year as I spent ridiculous amounts of time with both Cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate 3. I'm excited to see what 2025 has in store!
In Progress
Star Wars: Outlaws
Super Mario Bros Wonder
Ghost of Tsushima
Starfield
Finished
Indiana Jones and The Great Circle (PC) - 2/2

Games Finished:
- Mad Max: 1/18/25 - At just under 40 hours, a good value for 3 bucks on the last Steam sale. I had fun playing this, despite some quite repetitive aspects
In Progress:
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: beautiful and so detailed, I keep playing in short stints to try to make it last longer
- Baldur's Gate 3: I need to get back to this after some time away

Finished
- Luck Be a Landlord (Jan 20, PC, 66 plays, 20/20 floors, 93/186 achievements) 7/8
Rating system:
6 to 8 = Computer Games Strategy Plus
4 to 5 = Computer Gaming World
0 to 3 = PC Gamer
Playing
- Emerald City Confidential: a third of the way through.
- The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay: two thirds through?
- The Longing: AAR
- Lost Odyssey: Heading for the final area.
- Slipways: I'm about halfway through the campaign, on Reasonable difficulty.
Backburnered (games I'm in denial about having abandoned)
- Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization: I finished the tutorial and played on the easiest difficulty against one opponent a couple of times, but I kept getting creamed. I'm now going through a 3-hour tip video on YouTube to learn how I'm really supposed to play.
Abandoned
- To the Stars: had enough after completing three constellations. Thoughts.
- Dominion: this is the card game that popularized the deckbuilding genre. I tried the free version on iOS, playing a few times against the medium and hard AIs. Kind of fun but I've enjoyed other deckbuilders more.
Before: 2006 (15); 2007 (14); 2008 (20); 2009 (23); 2010 (13); 2011 (15); 2012 (17); 2013 (25); 2014 (25); 2015 (9); 2016 (8); 2017 (9); 2018 (2); 2019 (22); 2020 (9); 2021 (6); 2022 (14); 2023 (7); 2024 (9)

Lethal League is going on the Abandoned pile. I'm pretty much over the fighter game aesthetic, and the combat tennis aspect doesn't really add anything to it that I would want to play.

Finished Mercenaries Blaze an old school JRPG turned based tactical game released in 2023. Not as simple as it first appears. There was a decision split fairly early on, so I am going back to that point to play with different companions.

Finished Dragon Quest V on the NDS. Very enjoyable. I liked the story, the gameplay was comfortably familiar. Just a lot of fun.
Civ VII and new MLB the Show coming soon-ish. Football Coach: College Dynasty hit 1.0 and added achievements, so I'm knee-deep in a new coach career. Dabbling with other things until I figure out my next RPG/S-RPG.

Finished Boxes, which isn't a great game but is more exciting than the title might suggest. It's a simple, short puzzle game, where you basically click around on themed treasure chests solving mini puzzles to eventually open them. It was perfect to play as I listened to some back log podcasts.
