I never saw the animated one but unless this get super positive reviews, I don't think I'm interested.

Disney has really, truly run out of ideas when they are now in the process of taking every successful animated feature from the past and remaking it in live action because...CGI is cool?

The animated version was actually one of the better cartoons that my kids grew up with.

This admittedly looks much better than their recent live-action remakes.

Disney has the ability to turn animation into real life. I can understand their desire to refresh the copyright and push the boundaries of recreating beloved movies.

But I’m not a purist. There are enough platforms now to peel away a lot of movies that might have found their way to the big studios.

I think the problem Disney has run into with most of their remakes is that they don't actually improve on movies they're remaking. In fact, more often than not, they don't manage to capture the magic of what made the original animated movies special. So far, this one seems to be the only one that manages to evoke that feeling.
