What WWII game is most like Close Combat 1-4?
I never did purchase any of the big crop of WWII games that came out over the last 2 years. Games like:
* CodeName Panzers: Phase One.
* Silent Storm.
* Heroes of WWII.
Were any games released that were anything like Close Combat's 1 through 4?

Jeff, I just recently got Soldiers - Heroes of WW2, and I can't say enough good things about it. It's really one of the best PC games I've ever played. I can't say it's like CC 1-4, but you should get this game, by all means.
And the best part ... It's only $9.99!

I finally got my first trip out of the house and Best Buy matched ebgames $9.99 price-point. I'm going to load it up right now!Jeff Jones wrote:Jeff, I just recently got Soldiers - Heroes of WW2, and I can't say enough good things about it. I bought mine from GoGamer and it was a English Import. And like Kratz said, it was really good, really fun.jpinard wrote:How in ther world did I miss that? The last one I remember was CC4 and was disappointed in strayed too much from the open-ended options of CC3 (my favorite of the series).

Aware of that, I found all the Close Combat games more akin to "Ants At War" squinting at the screen and clicking with the mouse like mad. Not my idea of fun. Just my 2 cents worth.Jeff V wrote:Combat Mission is also nothing at all like Close Combat (it isn't real time, for starters).RookieCAF wrote:Combat Mission > *
Eric Young's Squad Assault is the latest in the Close Combat lineage. I thought it was ok (this coming from someone who didn't like CC at all).

I did kind of enjoy the third one, but mainly for its setting, not its mechanics. Of course, CM : BB has all but obliterated its memory
