Weekend gamer: 5/13 - 5/15...what's up?

Post by Goonch »

I have plenty of stuff to do around the 'ole ranch. I can't do anything really strenous for awhile. My neck and shoulder muscles are still sore as hell from chopping at a few thick tree roots with a dull axe. It's gotten a little better, but still hurts quite a bit.

Gaming wise it will be Splinter Cell CT and maybe some Civ3 / Rise of Nations / Combat Mission BO / Soldiers HOWW2.

I really wanted to mess around with GTR (racing game);however I think that my pedals/wheel unit is shot

I have some yard work I need to do--mowing and gardening. There's always house cleaning that can be done.

I'll still probably play some x-com during free time.

Tonight: Going out to the movies (Kontroll)
Sat: Misc. errands and house/car stuff to do, no evening plans yet so I might get some Jade Empire time
Sun: Get stuff done I didn't do on Sat and then go out for dinner and to see a play Sun night
When the sun goes out, we'll have eight minutes to live.

Well, the weather is going to be ideal for game playing this weekend, so I might actually do that for a change. Not sure what, though. Options seem to be:

1. Reinstall and update RTW.
2. Evil Genius (installed it a few weeks ago but haven't played it).
3. War in the Pacific (it didn't work with Win2K, but I rebuilt my system with XP a few weeks ago).
4. Crusader Kings (been meaning to spend more time with this for awhile).

Well, after a 5 day "vacation" that ended Wednesday, I'm totally beat. So I'll be sitting around the house at least tonight.

Will be playing:
Resident Evil 4 (cube)
WoW

Sleep, if I'm lucky. Work if I'm not. Maybe fit in some Guild Wars.

The wife and I plan on getting in as much City of Heroes as possible inbetween entertaining her parents (who are staying with us this weekend) and taking care of our new puppy. Both lofty chores.

My parents are coming in tonight for my graduation, so the weekend is going to be booked pretty solid. I hope to get in a little Guild Wars time at some point.

D'oh, you're right! We will get some on soon (just need some extra time to do it, heh).

We have a 6 hour birthing class tomorrow.

What the hell can they possibly have to say about the process that's going to take 6 hours tomorrow, and 6 more hours next Saturday? :?

I'm sure I'll sneak some more OOTP6 in sometime. I've got to find a way to close the 5 game gap with my Royals and get back into first place.

Oh did I ever lie. Friday after work I picked up SMAC, and then proceeded to play it all weekend. The only other game on that list above that got played was OOTP 6, and that was for a brief few moments on Sunday night to see how my Gremlins did for the weekend's sim.

I did get to play some x-com and my troops are finally doing well. However, I expect the ethereals to show up any time now and begin destroying my troops via mind control.

Reloaded and restarted from scratch Grim Fandango last night. Played for 8 hours and got to the point where I left off years and years ago.

Last weekend:

WoW as my "new" main hit 40 and I could up all the tradeskills that extra level.

Guild Wars in between WoW sessions, and reading about you all playing it on here. That always gets me sucked right in, playing for a few hours.

And my wife started Doom 3, though she didn't like when she died, and hadn't saved in a while. :)

Got to the castle in RE4. One really fun game. I replayed some of the levels numerous times, the combat is just so great.

Did some housekeeping in WoW, completing those green quests and upping skills.

Over the weekend I finished the 4th and started the 5th mission in Splinter Cell CT. I also played around with some quick battles in Rise of Nations.

My oldest son, Daniel, was watching me play RON. I think he is hooked now. He really enjoys building the cities and watching them change as the ages advance.
