That seems even more ridiculously lower than usual. I stopped taking my games there. I either sell them on e-bay or give them away as freebies in the PIFFage thread. But, I'm glad some people still take them there because I've found some good deals in their pre-owned stock.
If you are into console games at all, Blockbuster gives some pretty good trade value. Plus, they usually have a buy 2 get 1 free (or buy 1 get 1 at half price) on their used console games.

I've been advocating this since they were caught fencing stolen merchandise and failed to make restitution. I seem to be the only one outraged at this sort of behavior, though.

I remember the fencing incident very clearly. It is around that point, I refused to ever set foot into a EB store again.
There is every reason in the world to NOT shop there, i'm perplexed people still do it.. I mean their selection is garbage anyway - and their disdain for PC gamers is pretty easily spotted.
Now that they GUT pc games (often forgetting to give people all of the guts), and place 200 stickers all over the boxes, there really is no reason to subject oneself to this kind of treatment.

The people at the EB store that is on my way home (sorta') are friendly, have stock and have never tried to sell me insurance, or anything else... not even a strat guide. I'll pop in there and buy something from time to time.

very true...i bet they would turn around and try to sell that copy of Doom3 for at least $30. considering what they will pay you for used games, the fact that they often turn around and sell anything recent for only about $5 less than new is ridiculous. very sad that so many people let themselves get ripped off like that...

Yet they typically have the BIG games on the shelves or behind the counter on the actual release day instead of having to wait 2-3 days later like most other stores. Which is why I still shop there.

These are the very reasons why I said "I'll pass", and walked out the door with my games.
The only time you will get anything remotly resembling a decent tradin value is if you sell back a game that was released in the last couple of weeks. It makes me want to puke when I see some person throw a gigantic pile of games on the counter and they walk away with like 20 bucks...
Capitalism tries for a delicate balance: It attempts to work things out so that everyone gets just enough stuff to keep them from getting violent and trying to take other people’s stuff.
