1 game the way you want it..what is it?

Post by Daehawk »

Theres so many yet one easily fits...System Shock 3.

The way I want it though is a little different than the developers seem to invision usually. I dont want to be alone anymore. I want some friendly AI to be there with me. I'd like one or two to join with me for some interaction and fighting. But more importantly I want other survivors elsewhere in the ship or space station. Id like to hear radio chatter and comm traffic with them reporting what they are seeing and finding. Frantic firefights or running for thier lives. I dont want hundreds..maybe just 5-10 total throughout the game. Maybe some die while others live. We could plan out stuff or just listen in on the others.

I would love some MP co-op play but it would'nt be a nessity in SS3. I just got tired of being alone in the first two games.

Well, there's that woman running down the hall in Sci at the outset. Plus we have Tommy and Rebecca! And some of the grunts are cool, once you get to know them....

X-com done with a good first person perspective engine.

I want to be able to do some recon in a civilian's home and have some alien jump out of a closet (back room or whatever) and scare the crap out of me. And like Gothic, either fight or flight.

It'd be so cool to have some alien running down the street chasing me and saying something like Resistance is Futile Human, Stop!. And then leading him to some back alley where he has me cornered with his Ray-gun. And as his evil smile breaks into a wide grin, my buds jump out of their hiding places and put a cap up his ass.

Actually Gothic sort of had this type of gameplay in place. You could lead a snapper into town and the townsfolks would gang up on the poor old dino. But if you lead to many of them into town you might end up killing way to many townsfolks.

The Total War series with a fantasy setting. Either Lord of the Rings, a remake of the Warhammer series, what have you.
Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a child at play

Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot.

XCom or Jagged Alliance with the Silent Storm engine. I could die happy with either of those.
For motivation and so Jeff V can make me look bad:
2010 Totals: Biking: 65 miles Running: 393 miles
2009 Finals: Biking: 93 miles Running: 158 miles (I know it sucked, but I had a hernia most of the year)

Half Life 2 in a differnt kind of setting.

Something like... Border Patrol.

You would be part of the Border Patrol in charge of "discouraging" illegal alien "activity" in your assigned region.

You would be rated for kills, not only by pure numbers, but by style. You could trade in kill points for weapon upgrades... kill 100 illegal aliens (with 10 spectacular kills) and you can trade in the points to upgrade your 6 shooter pistol and Jeep all the way up to building a wall for your section staffed with people and rail guns...

as the determined illegal aliens continue to keep throwing themselves at your bullets... you could earn "fame" points for the hall of fame - which would determine what level of political office you would be elected to for your successes on the border...

Baldurs Gate 3.

I usually don't much like swords & sorcery. Didn't care for the Diablos. But damn. When it's done right, it rules.

Ultima 10, done properly. Group Interactions, total interactive enviroment, non-linear exploration, NPC scheduling and a truly epic story. A Ultima 7 that uses all of todays technology and doesn't get blinded by 'Amazing Graphics' and appealing to the mainstream.
