There was a recent attempt, but it died. It's been less than a year since the last Tournament (which was on Console Gold, but let's face it, that site is just an arm of the Octopus Overlords), so maybe we should wait a bit.

In the meatime, I'd be interested in running a best-of-genre tournament in which you can vote for your favorite games of each genre. I've started a poll to explain my idea and gauge interest.
