I want a Battlstar Galactica game

Post by Daehawk »

It would be a lot like Star Control 2. It would start right after the Cylon attack on the 12 colonies. You'd need to assemble the fleet and provide cover then jump out to a safe area. Next up would be finding and obtaining food and supplies from one of you local resupply bases. Then its off looking for Earth. You'd do jumps and find new solar systems. In one you might launch fighters for CAP duty and a raptor or two to scout planets for new supplies, minierals, allies. You could mine them and such. It would be a lot like Star Control 2 and Master of Orion mixed together. No Homeworld crap.

Cylons could show up at any time so you need to be ready to pull out and jump out.Think it would be a blast. Space Rangers got me thinking about this.

I predict that (assuming the show continues to do well) you will get your wish. Or at least part of it. I would bet on getting a game that sucks.

Change a couple of proper nouns, and you just described Homeworld.

A Nexus: The Jupiter Incident mod might work too.

Edit: Scratch that.. maybe a Starshatter mod.

Starshatter already has a Battlestar Galactica mod.

DamoclesX was working on the new BSG for Starshatter although its on indefinite hiatus. The only other I know of is the Galatica mod for Freespace 2 here.

I laughed because I thought the exact same thing - sounded exactly like HW :)

He is intelligent, but not experienced. His pattern indicates 2 dimensional thinking.

There was a console only BSG game released to coincide with the mini-series a couple of years ago. Gamespot review. Gave it a 7.1.

Good luck finding Freespace 2 at a decent price.
