Just got the 6 pack of strategy (HOI, EU2, EU2:Asia etc)...
I just got the Paradox strategy back form EB ($20 CAD) that has:
Europa Universalis II
Europa Universalis II: Asia
Hearts of Iron
Victoria
Two Thrones
Crown of the North
Which one should I start with? (note: already played HOI)

If you've already played HoI, then yeah, go with EU2. There are some great mods out there for it that a ton of historical events as well. Check out the official forums for them.

That's right, if they give you any trouble, they can deal with me.Well I'm at work, but okay, I'll tell them "Samurai" said so![]()

Yeah, at the very least ensure that you have your game patched up to 1.08.
If you want to put more work into it, like godhugh said, there are some fantastic mods on the paradox forums. They make drastic enchancements to the game, and you should check them out sometime.

Ugg, Victoria is a shitty game compared to the rest of them. I'd play EU2 first, maybe attempt to play Victoria since the economic model makes learning EU2 look rediculously easy. Probably skip HoI, since the sequal is SO much better.mori wrote:Not really. Crown of the North is like EU2 lite. But after you learn EU2 then go to Victoria and skip the rest.qp wrote:Thanks guys..one thing though, is EU2 the easiest of the bunch to get into?
For mods, i'd check out AGCEEP and Abberation for EU2. The first one adds dozens of historical nations and thousands of events, and Abberation is a mod that asks "what if?" by placing in maybe unhistorical nations that survive and don't die (think Byzantium).
For Hearts of Iron in the mod department there are two big ones I'd recommend. The first is CORE which is basically like AGCEEP for HoI. Secondly get the Great War which is a First World War mod. Both excellent.
Finally, GET HEARTS OF IRON 2!

I am very disappointed with this pack of games - I essentially bought it for EU2 but can't believe it is not more advanced than it is...
there are definite problems with loading EU2 Asia chapter - check out company board for instructions on how to load it correctly...
only game yet to play is victoria - still trying to look forward to it - but taking a break playing other games right now...

Restarted this last week. For the first time in nearly a year I was still playing at 4am on a work night!Austin wrote:You will read my thread on RoN and go buy it and we will dance the dance of your defeat online.
Last weekend I got my ass handed to me on a plate three times in a row. Then, while attacking France's capital (I'm playing the 'Entire World' campaign) I started to reduce his capital 5 seconds too late!
I think I'm over working my economy. It seems that Granaries/Sawmills/Smelters are the way to improve production in line with Commerce. Taxation for wealth. So with too many civs, I can't field a large enough army.

Yup. Build those in every city they are needed ideally. If you build those and keep them upgraded you should be able to at least get close to maxing out all your resource incomes in each of the ages after that.Moggy123 wrote:Restarted this last week.
