Linux assistance with wireless networking

I'm down here in GA for the week, and Squire_SCA convinced me to install SuSE 9.2 on my laptop to see if I wanted to install it on my desktop. Everything went well, except the wireless networking. For the life of me I couldn't get it working after about 8 hours.

Has anyone had any experience with Linux and wireless networking? Preferrably with SuSE.

My experience with Linux and wireless networking has been terrible. I'm still trying to get it to work on Red Hat 9.

Here are some resources I have found though:
http://madwifiwiki.thewebhost.de/wiki/M ... COnRedHat9
http://www.tuxroxx.net/index.php?page=e ... ow-To.html

Not sure if they will help though.

I would not worry about it. Install it to your desktop and get it running, and in the near future there will be a new driver or a kernel update that adds new functionality so that you can install it to your laptop.

?

I would worry about it because my desktop is only connected to the internet wirelessly. I'm sure I will get it working eventually, but I was hoping that someone here could give me a head start.

Maybe something here???? the second topic had something to do with linux trying to boot into the ethernet rather than the wireless.

Thanks, I saw that SuSE had a wireless forum and I had started to read that. I also found this, so I will check all this out.

Hopefully they have this figured out before I beat Half-Life 2 when I plan to reinstall my desktop. :)
