How do I know what type of DVI cable to buy?

I was looking at this monitor Viewsonic 912b but it does not appear to include a DVI cable. I have a BFG 6800 Ultra OC with dvi connectors but am not sure what type of cable I need since I have never had an LCD monitor before. Do I just need a DVI-D cable with male and female connectors or do I need something different?

I just got my dell Fp2001 last night and it came with a DVI-D cable (I imagine yours will also) but if you need to know, both ends of the DVI-D cable for my setup were male (female in the computer and LCD). I have a 6800GT video card.

Thanks that's good to know. I don't think my monitor includes a DVI cable unfortuantely. I am guessing that male to male connectors should be standard for all LCD monitors then.

I wish they'd list package contents on the manufacturers website, so I could be sure, but somehting in their help section suggested that this monitor did not include a dvi cable.

Looking at the pics at newegg.com, it looks like it has DVI and VGA. Product link.

Every once in a while I point skyward and offer up a bit of thanks for newegg.

Yep, that cable with the white connector is the DVI-D cable. Good thinking LB.

I love Newegg also, they kick ass.

Great! Thanks very much! Now I don't have to worry about it.

Last year I was looking for a cheaper price on DVI cables and found this link on the AVS forums. At the time they were by far the cheapest I could find but I don't know how the price would compare today.
