How do I get rid of this crapp?
I was using the net the other day and a popup came on asking to install a program. I clicked no, but the popup would not disappear. Later I find I have some programs on my cpu I did not want and they do not allow me to delete them.
The main program is System Scan and the other two are called 180 Solutions and Bullseye Net Work. When I attempt to delete these I get the message access denied.
Anyone else experienced with this problem and how do I get rid of them?
Are these valid programs or are they ones to be suspicious of?

You can run, but you'll just die tired.

Use Alt-F4 to close pop-ups.
As for those programs, they sound like ad/spyware. Nothing too dangerous but you probably don't want them. System Scan could be your anti-virus though. I know that's what Macaffee shows up as.
If you have XP, they just released a malware/spyware removal tool. Try that. Try AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy.

They're definitely spyware, and generally when those two are on there (particularly 180 Solutions) there's more you aren't seeing. AV software won't stop that kind of hellspawn from landing on your system, so your best bet are the programs that LawBeefaroni mentioned.
At least with those two, you CAN uninstall them from Add/Remove programs as well and they generally stay off for at least a while. I'd recommend starting with that before running the system scans since sometimes the spyware removal tools leave files behind that a regular uninstall wouldn't.
You can also try www.spywareinfo.com and their online scanner. Used in conjunction with AdAware I've had good luck with cleaning most systems of any major problems.

Ripstar, before my computer had to be repaired, I got that also. It's like you need four hands to click the no button, the button that pops up immediatly after you click no, the close screen so the first popup doesn't show up again, which there's just no time to do, and since you can't do all of these things at the same time, the program downloads itself. Really ticks me off, and I've written down any site I try to go to through links that does this and avoid them like the plague. I've got both ZoneAlarm Pro right now, and SpySweeper, (which I really like), and haven't had a problem like this since I installed them, though ZoneAlarm is kind of hard to get used too. I'll still use it for the rest of the license agreement, then think I'll go with Sygate as it's easier and more user friendly. I did notice that most of the sites that have this are not too well know gaming sites that come up when I do a google for (In my case, Morrowind, looking for mods) and a couple of other games I was searching for information on, the last being HL2. I was trying to find a good forum with question/answer type help for people who were stuck.

Do these spyware apps hide in your system restore files? You may want to purge those as well after running some spyware removal programs just to be sure. Then run the removal programs again.

You can also try PestPatrol, which seems to pick up more stuff than the freeware apps. They do have a free version which doesn't actually remove spyware, but it does tell you how to manually uninstall the crap.
I do however, remember reading in a previous thread that none of the current generation of anti-spyware apps work well at some the the more insidous crapware -- the sort that re-installs itself even after cleaning.
And yeah, these spyware/adware guys are on my list of people who need to be repeatedly kicked in the head.

ok well the best way to get rid of spyware and i know because i do it about 4 hrs a day at work with Rip. Adaware & SpyBot search and destroy both can be downloaded from download.com on their tip 10 list at the bottom of the page. both free and effective. some does keep adding itself back i know that wildtangent and dso exploit do but that you have to remove manualy with the reg editor. if you have problems with these showing up a little bit of research on the web will tell you exactly what reg entries to delete, only those though so if delete the entire registry don't blame me.

oh yeah for annoying popups i recomend going to analogx.com and downloading pow popup blocker. it is small clean and stops only the popups you say that you want to be stopped not the ones that you might want such as from a download site or such.

one thing for you if you use IE. under Options -> Advanced is a setting "enable install on demand" for IE and others. turn that off as it's an easy way to get stuff on your machine without your notice.
i would recommend against using IE except for cases when pages get borked in other browsers. i use opera. it's much better at surfing than ie is and is more secure too. mozilla and firefox are quite good too.
last thing, keep your spyware killers updated. new stuff appears all the time.
