Windows Master Volume and other settings

Post by leo8877 »

Hey all, what do you have your Windows Master Volume output set at? I've read some things that recommend having it set at around 70%, but I've always had it higher than that.

This new 5.1 system I have is killing me trying to tweak it and I'm wondering what other people do for their sound settings?

What about Bass and Treble levels? I've always had my Bass set at 65% and Treble at 55%. What do you all use?

I've always had the Windows master volume set at 100% and make adjustments via the knob on my Klipsch 4.1s. Is there supposed to be distortion if the Windows volume is set too high?

As for bass vs treble, I have my bass set to about 60% and the treble set to around 85%. To my ears, my speakers tend to sound base-heavy and a bit muddled unless I kick the treble up high.
