Moneymaker HAND004 Blinds: 9/18/4
Incoming bankrollls:
0010000 Chaosraven [button]
0010000 Clanwolfer [SB]
0010000 ChrisGrenard [BB]
0010000 Ralph-Wiggum
0010000 Cortilian
0010000 Green Giant
0010000 Octavius230
0010000 Inverarity
0010000 Sudy Nym

Preflop action:
9 Players ante 4 each (pot: 36)
Clanwolfer (9987) in SB for 9 (pot: 45)
ChrisGrenard (9978) in BB for 18 (pot: 63)

ACTION ON Ralph-Wiggum (9996)

I'm PMing out hole cards right now. I'll post another note when they're all out. After that, it's up to Ralph-Wiggum to post an "Action: XXX" consistent with the second bullet point of this post. And then it'll be Cortilian's turn, etc. If there are any questions, either post them in this thread, or if you think they're of a general nature, to the main tournament thread, or via PM if you're concerned they may tip your strategy.

Alright, all hole cards are out. If you didn't get a PM with your hole cards, or if you're having troubles interpreting the PM you got, let me know.

Good luck, everyone,

Chris Grenard sits down at the table, glancing at his opponents each in turn.

"Gentlemen."

He throws his blind into the pot and glances once again at the other players.

You're good.

Originally I set up the Gold/Hachem/Raymer tables with the assumption that there were 10 folks anteing up. When I went to set up the Moneymaker table, I realized that only Gold has ten folks on it, the rest are at nine. So I went back and edited the Hachem and Raymer tables, and thought I set things up for Moneymaker, but apparently I missed one instance of those four extra chips. Nicely found.

I'll step in with a summary as "Action: Raise ###" isn't one of the possible options listed. Raising requires a preposition, either "to" or "by." If you leave the preposition out, the implication is "by," which puts us at the following:

Moneymaker HAND004 Blinds: 9/18/4
Incoming bankrollls:
0010000 Chaosraven [button]
0010000 Clanwolfer [SB]
0010000 ChrisGrenard [BB]
0010000 Ralph-Wiggum
0010000 Cortilian
0010000 Green Giant
0010000 Octavius230
0010000 Inverarity
0010000 Sudy Nym

Preflop action:
9 Players ante 4 each (pot: 36)
Clanwolfer (9987) in SB for 9 (pot: 45)
ChrisGrenard (9978) in BB for 18 (pot: 63)
Ralph-Wiggum (9996) folds (pot: 63)
Cortilian (9778) raises (by) 200 to 218 (pot: 281, ahem!)

ACTION ON Green Giant (9996)

I'm not sure the pot size is so correct there...

And I have just learned what happens to a man's brain when he tries to run four game threads simultaneously. ;)

So... um... isn't the pot size 263? (Just guessing on that...)

Chris, if you were trying to steal Inverarity's cookie, that was a decent (but misguided) attempt. (Thanks for the vigilance.)

What type of cookie? If it's peanut butter or sugar cookies, hell yeah I'm stealing it!

Also, not for this hand, as it's already been raised, but for future use is there an effective way to do that thing where you check/call, but fold if it gets raised? Just for speeding things up a bit. (This question may have been answered in another thread that I didn't read closely...)

Ah, my apologies. I meant to come back here to let folks know that I've been answering general queries that pop up in the individual threads over in the tournament main thread. Chris's question got answered before I went to bed this morning.

Correction. It *was* free. But once an action has been declared, it can't be taken back (short the cases as spelled out in the rules).

In this case, for this hand, Clanwolfer folded.

Action: Steal chips from other players who aren't playing attention.

You attempt to steal chips from other players, but unfortunately your dexterity is too low and they notice you. You wake up the next morning with various injuries that you vaguely recall right before one of them hit you with a bottle over the head.

ACTION ON Cortilian (8278)

Just a nomenclature thing, Cortilian, but the first action taken in a hand post-flop is a "bet" not a raise. It's easy to see what you meant (so no big deal) but the term helps to keep me on track when organizing things.

Still in the pot are Cortilian and Inverarity.
