My wife has a gazillion of email messages (well, quite a lot!) in her Outlook Express application (WinXP). I do backups of her other critical files just in case, but I'm wondering how to back up the messages to a CD. Yes, I know I could just use an external hard drive or Norton Ghost, but I was looking for some why just to isolate the messages for purposes of backing them up, and perhaps also tranfering a copy of them to her new laptop. I looked at the OE export options but I don't see something like regular Outlook where I can export to a .pst file format.
Do I need to upgrade to regular Outlook to get this function?
Backing up Outlook Express messages

I use OE Backup Wizard. Free trial and it works perfectly and easily.

If possible you may just want to switch to the full version of Outlook. It may be overkill but at least it allows you to store everything in a personal folder file (.pst) and then back that up. I have a .pst stored in My Documents, so that whenever I back that up I get all my email stuff as well.
If you run Outlook you can have it automatically import all of the junk from Express and then set up a .pst for it.
I find it very annoying that there is no easy built-in backup in Outlook Express...
