video card settings questions

Post by Meghan »

I have a GForce 6800 GT and it's using the modified Omega version of the nVidia Forceware version 66.

When I'm playing certain older games - Sacred and Morrowind, noticably - I see an almost liquid sort of ripple horizantally across the screen. Does this sound familiar to anyone? It happens while I'm moving and the whole screen sort of ripples like it was projected on water or moving cloth.

I don't think it's the driver. It was doing it before I installed this set of drivers above. But I'm not sure what setting I should look at that might cause this.

Thanks for your input!

VSYNC probably. Turn on VSYNC and see if it goes away.

What he said. Does it look like the screen is tearing horizontally?

right, leo, that's exactly what it looked like.

And the Vsync was off - turning it on solved it.

Thanks guys!
