My 320gb ide Raid0 (or @ 160 Raid1 mirror); your 74gb Raptor

Post by Speaker2Animals »

Per the subject line, if any of you _happen_ to have a 74gb Western Digital Raptor around & would prefer to swap that single smaller sata unit for the extra space & the option to go ide raid, then we have a win/win.

My specific drives are 2 model# 6Y160P0 matched 2004 mfct. Maxtor ata133 7200rpm 160gb drives. My original @ 2004 intent was to do an ide RAID setup on my new system, but in now building out that new system @ January, I ultimately went w/ a cpu/mb combo sans built-in ide raid but w/ SATA instead. Instead of adding in a raid controller card, I'd like to get around to using the available sata connector. Ergo, desire to swap specifically w/ a Raptor owner (w/ good feedback/credentials/etc.) who needs more storage space or just needs/prefers ide.

While I certainly appreciate any/all interest, I believe I'm really only interested in a Western Digital 10,000 rpm 74 gb Raptor (although will also consider a pair of 36 gb Raptors as well).

I may also bump this every couple weeks as it may certainly take a while/months before I'll run into someone who wants/needs such an esoteric swap. Until then, the 2 Maxtors will be be serving periodic archive/backup duty, so they'll remain freely available.

As always, cheers & thnx for your consideration & interest.

[A revised offer, replacing my original earlier post w/ 2 newer larger drives- matched ata133 160gb Maxtors- and now seeking only the 74gb version of the Raptor. So if you thought you previously read a similar post before @ end of Jan, yes, similar, but offering/seeking slightly different drives]
