I got this out of the bargain bin (a few months ago) and am just getting around to installing it.
The problem is that, once I insert my solitary 'Game Disc', I receive a message saying that the wrong disc is in the drive (?).

Should I have an 'Install Disc" laying around somewhere, too?

Yes my Deus Ex came with 3 disks:
1) Install
2 Game
3) Hitman Contracts demo (?)

I hope you just misplaced the disk :(

I liked Deus Ex 2, but the levels certainly were claustrophobic. Oh well, at least I got lost a lot less than the original! And when you play it along with Thief 3, it makes the latter seem positively expansive!

They really are surprisingly tiny. I remember thinking people were just whining, then I played it.

I finished it, which I rarely do, so it must have been somewhat decent. I remember being disappointed though.

"No, no. He usually hangs out in a tavern all the way on the other side of Trier! ...It's about 30 yards east of here."

There's a graphics update that makes everything prettier. You can find it here.

Cool. I snagged a cheap copy of DX2 from ebgames a while back, and I kept meaning to go look for that texture pack. Thanks for the handy link.

Too funny, thanks

I quit Deus Ex Invisible War, middle of last year, about a third of the way through, intending to pick it back up. I tried getting back into it last week but just couldn't manage to stay interested.

If you force the game to stick with trilinear filtering you'll have none of the performance issues.
