Wow, ATI sent my free Half-Life 2 via media mail for $10
I chose to get the 5 cd's sent to me via snail mail as I like to have tangible items in my hands. I paid $9.99 for shipping and handling, but got 5 discs in a sleeve sized envelope for $1.04 postal cost. $9 Seems a little steep for handling. Makes Columbia House look like angels, lol. Just wanted to vent. Carry on...

If $9 went to "handling", you might want to wash those CDs off first. But at least you finally go them.
I paid $10 S&H for the Gold Edition via steam. A huge box. Got it about 6 weeks after release.

At least you got a box, so the shipping would have actually been a huge part of the total $10 cost. What's in the Gold Edition btw?LawBeefaroni wrote:If $9 went to "handling", you might want to wash those CDs off first. But at least you finally go them.

Cool hat, soundtrack, sticker, City 17 postcard, 3 posters, and the Prima Strat guide.
Strat guide is well done but comepletely worthless to me since I don't really use them.
Hat is excellent, soundtrack is nice (that Steam splashscreen sound is actually the intro to a 1:30 long song!). Everything else is eh, ok. Worth the extra $30 plus $10 S&H? To me because I'm a dork.

I guess that's mainly for handling and the cost of the media. You're paying the minimum wagers who processed (eventually) your order and then packed and shipped it. Maybe a little expensive for their lousy service, but I'm guessing ATI doesn't want to help cover the costs since they figure you could download it for free.lokiju wrote:I chose to get the 5 cd's sent to me via snail mail as I like to have tangible items in my hands. On the bright side, Half-Life 2 is worth every penny at full price so for $10 it's some of the best gaming value you've ever owned.
