I'm number 7!

Edit to add I think we should all be invisible. Invisible wolves are far more scary. Invisible Villagers should be harder to munch. There is no downside. ;)

It's at least 3 short stessier.

I'd be heavily in favor of hard deadlines if Remus would like to incorporate them. Even if it doesn't accomodate my job, hard deadlines make the games flow.

I've played in 4 games. 2 of them took awhile. 2 had hard deadlines. The first had "gradual" hard deadlines so the game took about a month. The most recent, Scoop's wino game - had hard deadlines and was done in less than a week. Granted, add an immortal round which should've been there and it would've been about 2 weeks. The non-hard deadline games, I'd have to re-read threads to see how long those went.

IMO - forum games need hard deadlines to encourage/force participation. With hard deadlines, non-participants become very obvious and gives the moderator time to a) find a replacement or b) adjust the rules based on how many are really playing.

But that's about all I have to add.

Somewhere Remus said he was going away this weekend, so we have to get this show on the road! Whatever happened to Baktosh playing in these? Or Lars? Or LM??? Malchior? Trig?

Oh, and Purge...I think he said he was taking a break, but that was when he thought we all were taking a break. Maybe someone should shoot him a PM on GT?

It's the important part of horse-racing season so Trig has been busy. No clue on the others.

As I am on my way to leave town right now I will not be starting this until Sunday night or Monday (more likely Monday). Anyone else wishing to play feel free to sign up as I can easily add roles to make the numbers work. Your PM will include your role and your quirk.

PMs forthcoming.

Roles -
3 wolves
1 Seer
1 Medium - public post from dead variety. Dead are prohibited from sharing any information regarding quirks but are allowed to share their thoughts on the current status of the game since they will be given no spoilers.

Death reveals wolf/human.

PMs have been sent. Night descends. More flavorful write up to come in moments. Clarifying rules to come right now.
Wolves - may PM freely until killed
Seer - is told only human/wolf
Medium - once per game may hold a public seance allowing a dead player to post in the game thread. This post is open to any topic or thought that player may wish to share save the quirks as that is the only spoiler information the dead will be given.

Dead players - each night you may vote on a player that you think has displayed their quirk in the best manner. The player winning the dead's vote will be given protection that night. Any dead player not voting within a 24 hour period from the fall of night will not be given a vote that night.

Re: WW Game with Quirks - Sunday Night

Post by Remus West »

The villagers gathered around the great oak tree sharing the banquet of food that each had contributed to. Chaosraven wore his best vest and smiled as the others enjoyed his pasta. Mr Bubbles laughingly encouraged every one to try Semaj's flat bread while helping himself to a third portion. Austin plucked lazily at the strings of a lute, intermittently sipping from a cup of lemonade brought by Newcastle. Winter was almost upon them and the villagers enjoyed what may be one of the last warm nights for some time as the sun slowly left the sky. Suddenly a great rook alit in the lower branches of the oak and gave forth a spine chilling croak. The villagers sat stunned and stared at the ill omened beast as they all knew a rook in the tree foretold death to come. For his part, the rook merely began to preen his plumage and settle in for the night. Their meals ruined by their superstitions the villagers quickly cleaned up their belongings and returned to their own homes for the night. The only sound to disturb the rest of the bird was that of bolts being thrown across the hastily closed windows and doors.

It is night.
Wolves, who will you target to kill?
Seer, who will you scan?
Dead, who has earned your favor?

What about the first night? No protection? You going to choose randomly? Can I rp my quirk now?

I mean it seems ot me you really haven't thought this through... We mine as well have Austin doing this, since apparently you are only in it for the write ups.

P.S. Vote for James, 2009 campaign is underway... I plan on posting a lot and dying early, be proud...

P.S.S. This is a note to the wolves implying you don't need to kill me tonight, I got a killer quirk I am dying to use.

P.S.S. My flatbread was based on your girlfriend... and since I dont know who here actually has one (Wives are off limits, someone might actually take offense), it is for everyone here with one... ;)

About quirks:

Will they ever change or are we getting the same quirk the entire time?

I think they should be changed after the night and announced so people don't automatically get assumed to be evil/good for playing their quirk the previous day. Plus it adds a o so fun and random element to the days fun. Now it might be way too much work for one man to handle, which I understand, some people have jobs and lives and... bwahahahahah... ahem... ok... Some people are stuck at work and cant fire up a database to chart a online game they are playing... sometimes employers from upon this sort of stuff at work.

Me, I plan on asking people at work if they want in on the "Am I werewolf" game I am playing online, because thats what the cool kids are up to today.

Also, I have to go to work shortly, so I am pretty much doing a metric f-ton of night posting now so I feel sated while working a dead end job where my sole goal in life is to avoid getting too drunk while working... :)

Any thoughts on the quirk questions?

Stable quirks are just right. I don't think anyone will base their alignment decisions on quirky behavior. Each will give everyone else the benefit of the doubt and base all judgments on the facts (and on reasonable hunches that take quirkiness into account). Don't worry so much!
