Email notifications down?
I haven't received any email notifications from the boards today. I verified that my address is still correct in my profile, that the board still shows me as subscribed to the topics, that the topics have received replies, and that nothing is caught in my spam folder. Anyone else seeing this?

Re: Email notifications down?
They might be. I had a number of PM sent and received yesterday (5+) and not a single one fired off a notification. I have noticed sometimes there are delays of a few hours, but this is the first time I've never been notified.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

Re: Email notifications down?
Yeah, I've seen delays of a few minutes to an hour or so on these, but the last I received was many hours ago at this point.

After the latest rejiggling of the conectificators, I've gotten a few notifications. Knocking on wood-like substances in hopes that things are workin' again.

Just a note that notifications seem to be off again for me. I haven't gotten any in several days, for old threads or new. Checked my spam folder, as well.

Am I the only one experiencing this? 0 notifications since July 6th. Verified my address is still correct on my account and that I am watching bunches of threads.

Re: Email notifications down?
I will try to make some time to check it out this weekend, I think all the tech staff has been as swamped as me recently. Thankfully we haven't been seeing to many issues.

Not to be a pest, but has anyone had time to take a look at this? It's a fairly massive issue for some people (ok, for me) and has been going on for several weeks now.

No I haven't had time sorry. Life is too busy, and it's low on my list at the moment. May have time tonight or this weekend to poke around and see what's going on.

Re: Email notifications down?
Ok I lied, I took a quick peek and it seemed the mail daemon wasn't running.. Someone please test and make sure I started the right daemon (Postfix or Sendmail.. I can't remember which we are using) and let me know if that's fixed (and I will fix the startup scripts to make sure it's running).

Re: Email notifications down?
Ok not sure why that daemon wasn't configured to start at boot, now that I know I have the right one -- I have modified the scripts to allow it to start at boot time.

Yes, they are.
What an unfortunate time to try to change my e-mail registration, but it's fixed now.

Re: Email notifications down?
Sorry I forgot to post that I kicked the service.. When I've got some time I'm moving our home to a new provider, I've done what I can with these guys to get us on reliable hardware and it seems every time I think I have it sorted out, something else goes wrong.

Count me among the folks not getting e-mails for subscriptions. I just checked two of my subscriptions and have not received any notification for them.

I asked FP to take a look. It is probably something filtering them as SPAM or the like.

I'll try changing my e-mail address, see if that does anything.
But they aren't in my junk e-mail box, so I'm not sure it's something on my end.

What's the domain name(s) that aren't receiving emails? I don't mean full addresses, just @whatever.com would suffice.

Re: Email notifications down?
Ok gang, I had borked the setup of the MX records and it should be OK now. The MXtools are properly reporting the entry -- can you confirm if it's working now for those of you where it was broken?
Also one obscure DNS blacklist had our IP address in it (as part of a huge network block). I've sent in the request to have that removed, but I doubt the mail servers were using this BL (I don't know any admin in their right mind that uses a blacklist that blocks /24 chunks). I'm pretty sure it's because the DNS zone file wasn't doing the proper MX lookup on the root domain, which is fixed now.
Let me know!
