So, are ANY of the last few Tomb Raiders worth the time?

I find myself with the urge for some third person action. I played the first Tomb Raider on the Playstation back when it first came out, but nothing since. I have several of the more recent ones from a combination of gifts and hardware bundles. The whole series has a reputation for crapfulness, though. Are any of these worth installing? I have 4, 5, Chronicles, and Angel of Darkness.

I haven't played them, but neither have I heard anything positive about them. They were pretty universally blasted since about the 2nd sequel.

My experiences with the TR games:

After finishing both 1&2 and loving both, I didn't finish 3 but did get fairly far into that game despite a an annoying texture bug and other problems. I could tell they just ported the console version of this to the PC because features like mouse driven menus and some keyboard combo movements were absent from this version.

I didn't get far at all in 4 despite buying the collectors edition; the new features like swinging on ropes didn't add to the game but only made it more annoying, IMO. Also, some of the very early secret areas I found were monstrously hard to maneuver in and the reward was only a pack of flares or a small med pack.

I did enjoy the first two areas of Chronicles, however. If you liked TR1 and are itching for more, these two areas were more of the same, however the last area in this game was contrived and buggy and I never finished it.

I never bothered with AoD.

However, if you've never played TR2 and can find it someplace, that's my favorite of the bunch.

I got TR 2 & 3 & 4 & jUST bought Angel of darkness not to long ago and its cool. I say grab them if you like the play style. I bought all my TR games for under 10 bucks. AOD was 2.99 lol

This is a funny post, because as I type this, I am installing Tomb Raider:AOD. It was 3 bucks in a dvd-style case, so what the hell. I'll let you know what I think. I know there are not a lot of tombs in this game and that it bombed, so with my low expectations I expect this to be better than I think... if that makes sense.

Oddly enough, I am replaying this for the third time now. And I have learned a new combat move that I never knew about during my first 2 playthroughs. Tell ya what, combat is *definitally* easier now.

Oh, and I second PoP over Tomb Raider.
