and soft tires for that extra little speed boost.

I meant to check the rulebook last night but forgot. Remind what soft tires mean:

optional +1 to all rolls
2 tire damage per space on overshoots
must use pits

Is that right? Anything else?

There are rain effects as well, but there's no rain in the forecast.

You can forego the pits after a lap, but you would lose the +1 bonus on lap 2.
