I don't know if this is a gesture to garner goodwill, a mistake, or an attempt to make Live Gold worth something, but Fable 3 is currently free from the XBox Live Marketplace.

As a note, you have to purchase it with Microsoft Points, not cash. It's still free, but the cash option just gives an error.

Pretty sure it's not a mistake, it states that it's a Gold exclusive. Guess they're looking at taking on PSN+.

They've announced that it is to 'celebrate E3.'

In other words, to suck up to all the people they've been pissing off.

I dont have a points option.....all I have is my credit card which errors.

Microsoft is offering free games until Xbox One is launched. Unlike Sony, no word on them offering free games after it is launched.

Can we get the title amended to reflect an ongoing freebie? MS has said it will give away 2 games a month till XBone releases.

I read something earlier that they would be switching it to Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed 2 in July. I'll likely 'buy' them just to have them on record, although I already own both games.

Ahhh, see how they worded that very carefully. It doesn't say you will get halo3 and ac2 in July, it says you "will receive two free Xbox 360 game downloads per month starting July 1 until Dec. 31, 2013, including popular titles “Halo 3” and “Assassin’s Creed II.”

No, I checked earlier and it wasn't featured on the Xbox360 dashboard. Finding the game in the store, it was still listed at 800 points.

Turns out there is nothing for me to get.For some reason I had it in my head that I got free games with my PSP. But that's only for the paid PLUS service doh...and my PSP 2000 is not even listed..it starts at the 3000 then hits GO and Vita....sigh.

Shit I signed up for 3 months to try it out and made my money back in like 15 seconds. Gona renew for a year as soon as that expires. FYI there's a bunch of stuff that was supposed to go on sale dirt cheap today. Forget the list, but I know there were some good items in the list for great prices.

For XBL Gold members -- Assassin's Creed II is free, starting tomorrow -- until 7/30.

Other AssCreed games and DLC will be "on sale", as per that link (with prices).

I'll check it out after I dig through the mountain for games that PS+ already handed out.

As a reminder, Magic the Gathering: 2013 is free for Xbox! Live! Gold! users for the next few days.

Also, Galaga Legions DX is free on PS+ as of yesterday. Hoo, and then ray.
