If you're a lurker with zero posts, I'd ask that you post a few times soon before your account gets the axe. In an effort to combat the bots, I will be implementing a routine to delete zero post accounts that are more than ten days old. This WILL be retroactive.

I will make this a global sticky for a few days, so if you're not a bot, post a lot! Sorry that's the best rhyme I could do this morning.

Oh and this will be implemented somewhere around the 25th of July.

I don't have as many posts as some people and I registered late. Am I safe?

Oh! A clever ruse to lure out the lurkers. Lets see how many people we can get to show up that we can then accuse of being a bot so we can get rid of all the bots.

Any bot that checks in and parses announcements about bot purging and then posts to avoid the purge...well, what's that XKCD strip? This one? We'd be halfway there.

Just a thought -- since you can lurk just fine without logging in, there is really no purpose to anyone having a zero-post account. I'd just delete them with extreme prejudice.

That's not true. You have to log in to change the default theme.

Then the default theme should be black background with black text. Problem solved.

Even if you don't post, logging in lets you use the 'read/unread' features to better keep track of the threads you're reading.

before the great purge happens, I just want to say it has been great hanging with all you fine folks. We all know what's going to happen. A > sign will be mistakenly used instead of < or = and all us human posters will be deleted leaving the forum under the control of the bots. Probably how Skynet gets started...

Yep. Baton Rouge area. Been a member here since close to the beginning, after Gone Gold died. Obviously from my post count I don't say much, but I get most of gaming news here and I enjoy reading the general goings on.
