PLANNED SERVER OUTAGE NOW THROUGH THE WEEKEND (FULL OUTAGE)
I will be working on upgrading the OS (I won't upgrade the board software yet) anytime between now and throughout the weekend. Downside is that when I am reinstalling there won't be a webserver to post updates (so it will appear as the entire server has vanished). Not to worry, I will be doing it throughout the weekend -- if it's down, don't panic. If it's down for more than 3 days, panic and send pizza.

I have ordered a cloud instance at our hosting provider, and am installing CENTOS7 there now (updating it as we speak).. Once I have dependencies in, I will be disabling the board to create a database copy to move over there and do a restore.
Once the board is restored, I will bring it up over on the cloud instance -- make sure it all works, change the DNS over to the cloud instance and then the board will be online as it is today (on a different IP but same DNS entry).
From there this gives me time to pull a full backup of the physical server, validate it, then plan a reinstall with ESX and get the server into a VM.. It's a good idea, allows for me to make the server independant of the HAL.

Only halfway there, we are on CENTOS7 now on a temp server (that I pay for per hour, but it's not bad.. 40 cents I think plus some snapshot room which has already paid off in spades.. made a mistake? Wait 1 minute and restore from your snapshot.. it's pretty sweet).

Is the site VERY slow at loading threads about 90% of the time for anyone else?
Never mind its probably me. I tested about 5 sites before posting but after I left and went to some others there were a couple of those few that were slow loading also.
So probably me.

When in doubt, skewer it out...I don't know.

I don't know if it's just you, it's intermittently slow for me too.Daehawk wrote:Is the site VERY slow at loading threads about 90% of the time for anyone else?

Off and on including at least 1 time out, but it mostly is fine. Slow downs are sporadic and rare (but they exist) for me.

Mine were last night, but the note at the top of the forums says we're back to the old hardware, which should mean stability and the slowdowns should be gone. So far, that has been the case for me.Daehawk wrote:Also had a couple time outs. For the last few hours its been pretty good though.
