Get Watch_Dogs for Free
[Nov 06, 2017, 8:23 pm ET]
Ubisoft is offering the chance to get a free copy of the original Watch_Dogs for PC through UPlay beginning tomorrow at 11:00 am EST. A tweet earlier today acknowledges an issue redeeming this offer and preloading the game, but a subsequent tweet says this is cleared up now, so if you had trouble with this before, you should try again. This offer will run until November 13th, but you will be entitled to keep the game thereafter.

Someday I should really finish this. Or at least get further than 15 minutes in. Perhaps do the 2nd mission

When in doubt, skewer it out...I don't know.

Well that took three minutes. Thanks for the heads-up!

I know that smoove quote is from a different thread, but I wanted him to get a notification on this post.

It's a free video game with a mid-70s metacritic on PC (higher on console) that's like GTA, but with hacking.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

I've tried for two days to log-in to my stupid shitty Ubisoft account, resetting my PW multiple times with no love. Sour grapes says it's prolly a shitty game anyway...

Keep trying though, Watch_Dogs is a pretty decent game.

Like half my steam library has never been played. While I used to enjoy just collecting and owning video games, that is no longer the case.
I understand the idea of "it's free so why not?" But that really isn't a compelling argument for me any longer.
I'm not interested in putting the Twilight series on my bookshelf even if it's free, for example.

Re: Get Watch_Dogs for free for a limited time
Understood, I'm kinda that way myself. But this is a AAA title that you can play for dozens of hours and it really is a different kind of game than say a GTA or Far Cry or Assassin's Creed. The hacking mechanisms within the game really make it feel different to play. So if you like those kind of open world games you should grab it and give it a try sometime when you can put in a few hours on it.GreenGoo wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2017 10:27 am I understand the idea of "it's free so why not?" That's a great recommendation and I will check it out.
edit: Downloading. I should note that you can just "activate" it, which puts it permanently in your uplay account. You don't have to download it to get it. I only mention this because I'm come across some stuff, on Origin I think, where you have to actually start the download for the game to be added to your account.

You do know I was being self-deprecating right? I never got my password sorted out so I couldn't download this if I wanted to.

No I didn't realize but if I sounded defensive it wasn't meant that way.
I.e. I just thought I was playing along.
Sorry about your password troubles.
