Glad you got signed up for that class. I just stopped at a Tastykake Nature's Own Bakery Outlet and got rolls for $1.20 vs the over $3.00 that they want at Walmart.

Make sure you don't leave your plastic bucket in the sun, they last much longer that way. 5 gallon buckets too.

Ok down to one single place that is trying to wiggle a fix for me. The other next to last place got back with a so sorry it must be horrible but we cant help wit ha $1600 pump and install .We 'may' or may NOT be able to help with city water (which is $6500) . I just dont get these places. Might as well just flat out tell me no and be done with it. This stringing along is frustrating.

Anyways the last place is STILL looking into either paying my mortgage or the install cost. Neither of which they actually know if they can do. I have $800. A pump is $850. Umless the pumps Im looking at online (same power, same hp, same gallons per minute water flow) will work in which case Im seeing them at Ace and Walmart in a different name brand for $550 - $750.

Gotta get the super busy well man who wont come out to either come out and paper quote me or email me a quote. ARGH FICK ME..ok ok.

Are you running an air conditioner? If you are collect the condensate from that for flushing at least. Gilligan's Island professor skill level not required.

Just an update. Plz no "move" suggestions :) Just to be quick Ive found another 5 or so plumbers for estimates. Got people calling and coming out today tomorrow and Wednesday. This will help The Caring Place figure out if they are paying labor or my mortgage payment. That would be next month after the 3rd though.

One place already got back to me and told me they cant find a pump . But when I explained I could get the pump they agreed they could put that in for me. Still need them out here for a estimate quote so a bit of a waiting game still.

My brother just had this done in Indiana last week. He said it was fast, but watching them work, it definitely wasn't easy. $1950 (included the pump).

Ok its end of the day Monday and Ive had 2 places come out . Both looked and will email me estimates on both the install and if they can get a pump themselves or if I have to do it.

This last guy said its probably $300 plus pump. If I went city then he is $1200. Not counting the $1063 for city meter.

Wheels are creaking and moving.

Maybe once you get your pump fixed, you can start looking into some kind of assistance to get hooked up to city water. Better to apply for aid when you actually have water and don't care if it they put you on a waitlist for a year.

Another came out today. Was actually the guy that did some quick plumbing repairs for me in 2019 right after my wife died. His estimate seems to be in the $350 range. They keep going up. I tell each one the other guy's estimate. In the end its not really up to me. Its who ever is cheaper and that The Caring Place wants to pay / go with.

Barring all that I have $800 in donations. $140 in stuff I had sold to go to my property tax. And next week after the 3rd Ill have another $150 to throw at it.. The Caring Place may be able to make my mortgage payment so thats $450 there if so.

Coming together. Its just a slow mover that I have to stay on top of. And it appears next week is the target.

Gil - As for city water right now its too costly. But if Habitat For Humanity wants to raze this house to the ground and build me a new one Ill be happy to hook up city water and sewer at that time. Thats years down the road though.

*sings* "One day at a time sweet Jesus, thats all I'm asking from you"

A month without water I realized a few things today.

It takes 5 gal of jugged water to take a minimal bath and wash my hair. In the process it hit me...Im getting stronger. Day by day during this. That algorithm thats seemingly built into the universe to beat you down? Im beating it instead. Im getting stronger mentally and physically day by day. I can only improve. In the end I will come out on top of all this a better person. Physically Im starting to really see strength changes and mentally how Im getting better is blowing me away. Im so centered and calm now. I m in a much better place than when I went into this.

It really must piss off that algorithm.

Well I just spent the largest lump sum Ive ever paid in my life online to order that well pump. The local guy fell through. Was going to take him 9 weeks to get it shipped. F that. I ordered it myself from FL. I wanted the money to stay local and deal with a local place but I cant wait until near Thanksgiving for water. Done and Done.

Also that helping place seems to have paid my power bill already. I got an email thanking me for payment and when I looked it said paid by credit card. I always use check. Still waiting on mortgage to pay. Shall see.

But not too much since your septic field is on it's last legs. Now start $aving to have the septic tank pumped. Scott 1000 would probably be a good idea if you don't already. Walmart had a really nice bidet attachment on clearance for $9.00 last year which would reduce your paper consumption.

Here are a few drain field tips https://www.aquatestinc.com/4-tips-to-e ... rain-field

Oh, and never put grease down the drain. Just ran into a few people that didn't know that.

Ive already christened it with the ceremonial deuce and gave it my blessings as it passed that magic S trap in the sky.

Anyone else feel like we talk about stuff we would never bring up in conversation outside this forum? I think if I talked like this to say my bank teller Id get waved through the drive thru window.

I was thinking if I was rich Id have a walk in shower the size of this bathroom now with a big waterfall shower head and multiple strong shower nozzles. It would be like a mini car wash in there.
