I can think of a certain Flogging Molly concert last March where someone called me like seventy times before I shut off my phone.

It depends...does Grund survive the start up kill? If yes, I would guess it shouldn't take many at all. If no, might be a while.

For this reason, the day would be shortened in one of three ways: (1) Folks hasten to lynch me, or (2) I successfully ID and bandwagon a badguy, or (3) I deliberately bandwagon an innocent to watch who goes for it.

Of these three possibilities, I think you were teasing about #1. But guess how often I've been lynched on the first day. And guess how often I've nailed a badguy on the first day. And guess whether the number of times I've bandwagoned an innocent just to watch him die is greater than one.

Better watch your back. ;)

grund lynched a guy once for making him laugh; unfortunately it was the guy's arguments that were the source of grund's amusement.

Grund is like the Chuck Norris of Werewolf.

The chief export of Grundbenorris is Lynch.
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of Players Grundbenorris allows to live.
Grundbenorris has two speeds. Walk, and Kill.

And the second rule of Grund Club, YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT GRUND CLUB

A blood red moon can be seen above the small village of Linoge. To the oldest people in the village, it's a harsh reminder of darker days. This tiny town has known a lot of violence over the years, and that violence has left it's mark upon the town. The gallows that were quickly erected in the town square have sat idle for as long as anyone can remember. Warped and rotten planks can be seen everywhere. On the outskirts of the town proper, graves dot the landscape, like small idols worshipping death's many forms. Unknown to most of the sleeping villagers, many more idols would soon be displayed.

........ somewhere in the village, a mystical man receives visions, giving him insights to the true nature of some........

........ somewhere in the village, a man speaks incantations, hoping to help his furry brethren complete their slaughter........

........ somewhere in the village, a sect of brothers congregate, secretly perfecting their necromancy skills.........

........ somewhere in the village, a man attempts to use his great mental powers to reach out and touch another mind........

........ somewhere in the village, a great hunter cleans his weapons, preparing for a danger that will soon be here........

........ somewhere in the village, a man arranges a pentagram, hoping to speak to those who have past.........

........ somewhere in the village, someone dies.

It is now NIGHT. Once I hear back from everyone that I need to, the game will advance to the first day, and the lynching talks will begin. I will be sending everyone a PM telling them what their role is during the game, and I mean EVERYONE will get a PM. I like to call it the LordMortis rule.

Ok, all of the personal messages have been sent out. If you did not get one for some reason, just send me a PM letting me know. I don't have access to the forums during my work day, so the only times I'll be updating the game will be at the twelves, meaning around noon and after midnight eastern standard time. Let the games begin!

So Remus, is there any chance that we will find notes tacked to our doors with how people generally play all of the different roles ala the Captain's Memos from BSG2? If nothing else, it'll help us pass the night...

:?: The only thing I can think of that you might be refering to was my "What proof could I offer" post where I outlined that nobody could prove themselves day 1. I'll see what I can do though. I have to submit grades today so posts will likely be short breaks between grading late submissions. :?

I was thinking of this type of thing
Memo from the desk of me: Re: Apollo and possible actions thereof

He shall follow orders like a good soldier and act as our scout behind enemy lines. He shall discover the actions of the enemy that we may be in a better position to predict their next moves and foil their plans. He shall be aware that anyone trustworthy (Human) shall be given time to tell us their information before being disposed of during the day and that anyone untrustworthy (cylon) shall be shown as such by the Doctors. He shall be aware that the only possible exception to the above is the traitorous bastage Austin (Baltar) and that should Austin be lynched and proven Human he shall remain in doubt until such time as Apollo thinks it prudent to check him.

Do not distribute this Memo as I forsee it will cause the rest of the ship to look on me with suspicion.
I don't know why I remember that as being more direct than it was. :?

Ah, those were supposed to be a hint as to my role actually.
O.k., here is what I think thus far:

Seer: As always try to build a block of knowns. That means I.D. those you expect to live. Of course the wolves can try to counter this by killing the ones who are far from being lynched so use your best judgement.

Hunter: One of the 2 most powerful roles. The Hunter can prove himself beyond a shadow of a doubt. Ordinarily this would mean he should play an aggressive style but we need his shot to count for the good. Remember, even though the Hunter's shot can not be faked, it is better not taken then missed. Do not allow yourself to be lynched as there is no need to go quietly.

Medium: The other most powerful role. This ability can be very useful or end up useless in that gathering information from the dead is pretty random. The power of the Medium is in the public proof. As with the Hunter, the Medium can not be faked by the wolves as his power requires public execution.

Cabal: Gains information the wolves do not have. Can band together but need to be careful as we do not want the wolves identifying their grouping. Use the ID ability carefully as it should help counter the wolves faking a dead guy.

Mentalist: Great power for coordinating information and can not be faked. Remember though, just because you talk to someone doesn't mean they are not lying to you. Guard your information carefully but be sure everyone shares everything they know with you. Set up a system that you can use to tip players off to who you have talked to. Do not tell them before hand as the wolves can use that to nullify you by killing your target. Also be careful with it because if you have spoken to a wolf they can use your signals to undo your work. Remember to take everything folks tell you with a grain of salt. They are no more trustworthy by PM then they are in public.

Innocents: Try to get eaten or lynched in place of the specials.

One special note regarding the Mentalist. If the Medium has come forward publically and you have information you think should be made public contact them and let them be your mouth piece as their life is measured by how long the hunter can protect them. Of course if you have nothing useful to share then do what you do.

Beserker: Get lynched without getting shot and take down a special. You figure out how, I'm not helping.

Werewolves: Get lynched. A lot.

Sorcerer: Get eaten at night.

One note on innocents: Do not pretend to be the Seer and call one of the Cabal a wolf. That creates confusion and is bad. Of course, if used correctly then the village can learn a lot from it. If the Mentalist can connect with innocent/Seer/innocent then they could coordinate the third innocent coming forward posing as the Seer to gain information by making accusations.

Sadly, I don't have a role this game (I'm sure everyone will say this), so i could vote to lynch myself. Would it make you happy if I did?
